"Absolutely adorable!" - The Village Voice

"A cult hit" - Time Out New York

"Saucy...an internet sensation" - The Sun (UK)

Sydney Maresca & Anne Harris have been playing the ukulele together in NYC since meeting at a party in 2000. Originally known as "The Ukes of Hazzard", they shortened their name to stay on the right side of the law.

A dance remix of their song “Gay Boyfriend” was released in the UK and debuted at #67 on the UK singles charts beating Seal who debuted that same week at #68!

The Hazzards have been charming audiences all over New York, the internet, and the UK! Their video for “Gay Boyfriend” was downloaded over a million times within 3 months of its initial posting! You may have seen them live in New York City at Irving Plaza, Galapagos, Luna Lounge, The Knitting Factory, The Cutting Room, Ars Nova, North Sixth and more. A whirlwind promotional tour to London accompanied their single release and The Hazzards found themselves singing live on BBC radio, chatting with The Sun's reporters, appearing on live TV, and performing a big dance number at London's Astoria. A Comedy Central favorite, The Hazzards captivated US television audiences as part of the “Out on the Edge” special and “World Stands Up” series.

Originally a ukulele/Casio SK-1/glockenspiel/tambourine duo, The Hazzards are now playing with a full band: Will Carlough (The US Patent Office, Conquistador, Premium Blend) on drums, Andrew Dickerson (CirqueThis!) on bass, and Paul Thureen (The Debate Society, Children with Hands) on harp!

Sydney is a fashion designer and costume designer for theater, dance and film. Anne sings, dances, and plays street hockey. They take the G train to practice at each other's Brooklyn apartments.
